Councillor Round Up- this is just a flavour of what we do. I try to report on different Cllrs each time.
Cllr. Roberts has been working hard to develop a better relationship between local residents and the University. She has also been working on the vulnerability of her ward to flooding.
Cllr. Haque continues to work with the Northampton inter faith group to improve burial and cremation services in the town. He has recently undertaken some important work looking at the needs of local retailers, in terms of loading bays, parking, consumer access.
Cllr. Birch continues to work in her ward to develop the local plan and to improve open public spaces and play facilities.
Cllr. Marriott works closely with Cllr. Birch on the above and matters affecting his ward- anti social behaviour, parking and HIMoS.
Cllr. Joyce has been campaigning with local people to save Abington library and to find a solution to plans to develop garage sites for housing in the face of local opposition.
Cllr. T.Eales is working with people in Kings Heath to improve the amenities in the area. She also champions the work of the Domestic Abuse Service and is campaigning for a better deal for them.
Cllr. Ashraf works closely with St James library to engage her local community and with Pearls of Peace, a Muslim women’s group that meets in St James. She is looking at developing a town wide anti-litter campaign.
